Get Prepared: Redistricting is Coming to Colorado

Because population growth in much of the rural parts of Colorado have lagged the Denver Metro area, our legislative districts will have to be fully reconfigured. The maps adopted in 2021 will be in effect for the next 10 years.

Make your rural voice heard!

The passage of Amendments Y & Z in 2018 fundamentally changed how redistricting is conducted. The time to apply for the Congressional and Legislative Redistricting Commissions is now. The application window closes November 10, 2020. If rural Coloradans are not involved in this process, the Denver Metro area will dominate the map-drawing process.

Please join the Colorado Livestock Association along with partners from numerous other state organizations for a Zoom discussion with the Colorado Neighborhood Coalition about how to get involved in the redistricting process.

About Colorado Neighborhood Coalition

Colorado Neighborhood Coalition is committed to promoting the development of fair congressional and legislative maps in Colorado in 2021. How maps are drawn affects the fate of elections and the balance of power in the Colorado Legislature and Colorado’s congressional delegation for five election cycles (10 years) after each Census. Our goal is to promote the development of fair maps that afford either of the major political parties an opportunity to win the State Senate, State House and Colorado congressional districts.
